Greetings from ChiangMai,
We pray that all is well with you. We think of all of you often in our prayers and thank God for you. Your heart for our family and your intercession in our lives is truly a blessing to us.
I wanted today to share with you just a few of the things going on with our ministry here in ChiangMai. It is my hope that you will be encouraged with us to see that God is still working in much the same ways as in the first century church.
Less than a year ago Pracha and our teams began to work in an unbelieving area called MaaMoo. Which means "Life Center". What a timely name for what was soon to happen. One day Pracha found a man passed out in the dirt on the edge of a demon worshipping village. This man, now in his 40's, had been an opium addict for over 20 years and had been abandoned by his own people. He would have soon died had Pracha not found him. After taking him to live with him, he was soon saved in every way. Within 4 months his strength was back and he was free from his addiction. The day he met the Lord he danced, and he has been dancing before the Lord ever since. From that day we called him David. David is one of Pracha's disciples and goes with the team every week giving his testimony to those who are still in darkness. David was the first convert of many in the MaaMoo area, where others now believe because of the change in his life.
One of those new believers is a woman named Bojah. Wife and mother of 2 children who became a Christian last fall with her husband. They have been persecuted quite heavily as she is the daughter of the head witchdoctor in that area. From the day she believed her father had disowned her family and cursed her with black magic. Four months ago she was diagnosed as having liver cancer. Last month it had advanced so much that our team had taken her into ChiangMai for treatment at the government hospital. She stayed only one night. The doctors said it was too late to treat and sent her home to die. Two other hospitals refused her saying the same thing. The witchdoctor and the rest of the family felt responsible for all of the curses put upon her family. Here is where the Christians from another village enter the story. They have a young pastor named Nirand whom I met last October for the first time. We had been invited to spend a long weekend there doing a revival with 2 other villages. These Christians had been discouraged with their faith and many in the village had fallen back into their old ways. By the Sunday of that weekend, God had shown us all that He was to put the fire back into their hearts. We had a 14 hour meeting that day. From 4 in the morning to 6 that evening, nobody left, nobody ate. The prayer, singing and teaching continued uninterrupted. Never before had I been in a meeting that long that seemed so short a time. When God does it, it's just easy. The result? Large scale repentance and renewal. The following week, I got a call from Pastor Nirand. He asked me did I believe in angels? I said yes and he continued to tell a story. He was so excited from the weekend that he couldn't sleep. So about 3 am he got up and went up the hill to the church to pray. He had been there about 30 minutes when a few dozen people in the village were awakened out of their sleep with the sound of over 100 people singing praises to the Lord. Together they hurriedly rushed up to the church thinking they were missing out on something. Upon arriving they found the young pastor sitting on the floor by himself in the dark with one candle lit. The whole village then agreed together that God had confirmed the young pastor in his leadership role by the presence of angels that night. God was preparing these Christians to take responsibility for the area of MaaMoo, which they are doing.
They are the ones who have been visiting Bojah and her family. Praying for her healing with all the unbelievers watching. Today Bojah is healed. The jaundice is gone. She is eating again. She is moving around normally and giving God the glory for it all. And her father? He hasn't given his heart yet, but he knows what our God is doing. Many others continue to believe and are confessing Jesus as Lord. The days that the Christians are unable to be with the new believers, they use cell phones on speaker to pray with them and encourage them. Doing whatever they can to reach out to them. Does anybody know what their doing? No, but God does and He is blessing it. Available people who believe that God is able to do all things. After all these years, nothing has changed. God is still renewing the churches for the work, preparing unbelievers for a miracle, and using our teams to connect it all in an apostolic way. Many things like this continue to happen every month in many other areas. Continue to pray for Moses' team, Pirod's team, Malachi and Pracha's as well. These men and their disciples are walking in the simplicity of trusting God for His leading. To show us all how He brings all things together for the advancement of His Kingdom. Pray that there will continue to be the way for our family to support these men and their disciples as they move forward by faith. Thank you also for your prayers for Debbie as she continues to heal from Hepatitis A. We are thankful that she is doing quite well considering. It could have been a lot worse.
We appreciate you all and the part you have in this ministry and our lives. Be blessed in Him in every way.
Yours In Christ,
Norman and Debbie
